Nauka słówek w języku obcym to dla dzieci w wieku szkolnym spory wysiłek. W tym wieku jeszcze za wcześnie na tzw. typową "pamięciówkę" - proponując dzieciom zakuwanie możemy je jedynie zniechęcić do nauki języka. Dobrym sposobem na naukę będzie pobudzanie jak największej ilości zmysłów np. wzroku i słuchu.  W tym celu możemy wykorzystać tzw. flashcards, czyli małe kartoniki na których z jednej strony mamy obrazek, a z drugiej odpowiadające mu angielskie słówko. Nauka polega na tym, że pokazujemy dziecku dany obrazek i głośno wypowiadamy odpowiadające mu angielskie słówko. Dziecko je powtarza. Jeśli ma trudności z wymową powtarzamy słówko wielokrotnie. W zestawie słówek powinno być nie więcej niż około 10-12 kartoników. Po zaprezentowaniu całego zestawu powtarzamy całą czynność. Stopniowo, kiedy dziecko powoli zacznie zapamiętywać słówka pokazujemy mu tylko obrazki bez wypowiadania słówka - dziecko zrobi to samodzielnie.

Poniżej zestaw słówek opisujących przybory szkolne. W tym przypadku możemy wykorzystać kartoniki również w inny sposób - pokazywać dziecko słówko i poprosić żeby wskazało nam dany przybór szkolny. Learning vocabulary in a foreign language is a great effort for children of school. At this age, it's too early for so-called typical "learning by heart" – so by suggesting this kind of learning to children we can only discourage them from learning. A good way to learn is to stimulate as many senses possible for instance sight and hearing. For this purpose, we use the so-called flashcards, which are small boxes with a picture on one side and a corresponding English word on the reverse. To learn words in this way show a picture to your child and utter the corresponding English word. The child repeats it. If they have difficulty with the pronunciation, repeat the word several times. In a given set of vocabulary it should be no more than about 10-12 cartons. After presenting the entire set of words, repeat the entire action. Gradually, when the child slowly starts to remember the words, show only the pictures without saying the words - the child will do it themselves.

The below set of words describe school supplies. In this case, we can use the boxes in another way -  show the child a word and ask tchem to point out a given school utensil.
